Job Disability Support Worker - South Brisbane, South Brisbane

Nextt is currently seeking a reliable, compassionate, and experienced Support Worker to support a male participant with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a Supported Independent Living (SIL) environment located in South Brisbane.

This role is ideal for someone who is consistent, patient, and confident in implementing behaviour support strategies, while also encouraging independence and building a positive, supportive relationship with the participant.

About the Role:

You will provide day-to-day support tailored to the participant’s individual needs, including assistance with daily living tasks, community access, and maintaining a structured and supportive routine. A strong understanding of ASD and behaviour support is essential to ensure the best outcomes for the participant.

Roster:

• Tuesday: 8:00am – 5:00pm
• Wednesday: 9:00am – 5:00pm

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide person-centred support in line with the participant’s care plan
• Implement behaviour support strategies and maintain consistency
• Assist with daily living activities and routines
• Support community access and social engagement where appropriate
• Maintain accurate documentation and communication with the wider team

What We’re Looking For:

• Demonstrated experience supporting individuals with Autism (ASD)
• Knowledge and practical experience in behaviour support
• A calm, reliable, and proactive approach
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently while following structured support plans

Essential requirements:

• Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
• Blue card
• Yellow card
• Valid Australian Driver’s Licence
• Comprehensive car insurance

Pay Rates (SCHADS Award – Level 3.1, Casual, before tax):

• Base rate: $35.15/hr
• Afternoon shift: $38.67/hr
• Active night shift: $39.37/hr
• Saturday: $49.21/hr
• Sunday: $63.27/hr
• Public holidays: $77.33/hr
